Provisional agenda

1. Opening of the Conference of States Parties by the representative of the Secretary-General.
2. Election of the President and other officers of the Conference.
3. Adoption of the agenda.
4. Adoption of the rules of procedure for the Conference.
5. Matters related to the implementation of the Convention:
(a) Interactive panel discussion on the theme “The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as a human rights instrument and a tool for achieving the Millennium Development Goals”.
6. Establishment of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities:
(a) Election of the members of the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under article 34 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities;
(b) Choice by lot by the President of the Conference of the six members of the Committee whose terms shall expire at the end of two years, as provided in article 34, paragraph 7, of the Convention;
(c) Confirmation of the date on which the members of the Committee are to assume office.
7. Other matters.
