 The following reports were adopted on Friday, 13 May 2011

ADOPTION OF THE REPORT ON SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

The Universal Periodic Review Working Group today adopted, ad referendum, the report on Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (A/HRC/WG.6/11/L.13), following the review of that country on Tuesday, 10 May 2011.

92 recommendations were put forward by the Working Group and 33 were examined by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and enjoy its support; 16 were considered to be already implemented or in the process of implementation; 26 will be examined by Saint Vincent and the Grenadines which will provide responses in due time, but no later than the eighteenth session of the Human Rights Council in September 2011; and 17 recommendations did not enjoy the support of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

ADOPTION OF THE REPORT ON SUDAN

The Universal Periodic Review Working Group today also adopted, ad referendum, the report on Sudan (A/HRC/WG.6/11/L.14), following the review of that country on Tuesday, 10 May 2011.

160 recommendations will be examined by the State under review which will provide responses in due time, but no later than the eighteenth session of the Human Right Council in September 2011.  In view of upcoming constitutional arrangements, 29 recommendations were clustered put forward to Sudan and South Sudan or to the parties of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement; and 4 have been put forward to South Sudan.

ADOPTION OF THE REPORT ON HUNGARY

The Universal Periodic Review Working Group today also adopted, ad referendum, the report on Hungary(A/HRC/WG.6/11/L.15), following the review of that country on Wednesday, 11 May 2011.

 

148 recommendations have been presented to Hungary by the Working Group. From these recommendations 113 recommendations enjoy the support of Hungary, 6 were rejected and 29 need a more careful examination, and will be addressed at the 18th Session of the Human Rights Council in September 2011.

ADOPTION OF THE REPORT ON PAPUA NEW GUINEA

The Universal Periodic Review Working Group today also adopted, ad referendum, the report on Papua New Guinea (A/HRC/WG.6/11/L.16), following the review of that country on Wednesday, 11 May 2011.

146 recommendations have been presented to the Papua New Guinea Government. From these recommendations, 75 enjoy the support of Papua New Guinea, 2 were rejected and 69 need a more careful examination and will be addressed at the 18th Session of the HRC in September 2011.
