Study on languages and cultures

Through resolution 18/8, the Human Rights Council requested the Expert Mechanism to carry out a study on the role of languages and culture in the promotion and protection of the rights and identity of indigenous peoples, to be presented to the Council at its 21st session (September 2012).

The Expert Mechanism requested contributions from States, indigenous peoples, NHRIs and other stakeholders to the study.
