Nigeria (Jadakris Nig)

With the project entitled “Empowering Victims of Trafficking and Slavery in Buguma”, 30 victims of human trafficking, forced marriage and sexual exploitation were helped with the aid of US$ 6,400. The project was carried out in 2006.

Background of the organization:

  • Certificates of training were provided to the victims upon completion of training - Credit/Jadakris NigJadakris is registered as a voluntary organization. It was founded in 2001 and deals with rehabilitation, counseling and reintegration of victims.

Goal of the project:

  • To provide rehabilitation for the victims of slavery in Buguma, Kalbari, by organizing vocational training, aiding them to earn a living in society.

Main activities:

  • Training in an income generating skill, such as tailoring, bead making, and hat-making.
  • After training: Victims will be provided with the machinery to start their own business
  • During the training period victims were paid a monthly stipend to prevent them from falling victim to their prior circumstances.
