An independent, international commission of inquiry to investigate the conflict in the occupied Palestinian territories

Meeting in Special Session to discuss the situation in Gaza, the UN Human Rights Council votes to urgently dispatch an independent, international commission of inquiry to investigate all violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law in the occupied Palestinian territories from the start of the current military operation.

UN Human Rights Chief Navi Pillay, in her address to the Special Session, cited examples of attacks on civilian dwellings, and said there was a strong possibility of violations having been committed, which could amount to war crimes.
