ACTING ON A VISIONIn the 15 years since the creation of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the United Nations human rights programme has moved from standard-setting to standard-implementation, from headquarters to the field, from disconnected endeavours to an integrated approach.
So says Acting High Commissioner Kyung-wha Kang in her speech to an expert conference that assessed States’ implementation of the commitments they made at the 1993 World Conference on Human Rights in Vienna. | |
