COMMITTEE ON MIGRANT WORKERS

Launching event of the joint general comments by the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families and the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the human rights of children in the context of international migration

Monday, 16 April 2018, Palais des Nations, Room XII

The "talk-show" style discussion will serve to raise awareness about key human rights concerns with respect to children in the context of international migration, provide an opportunity to highlight the challenges of States and the international community in addressing these concerns, and to promote a deeper understanding of this multi-faceted phenomenon which calls for a variety of responses, including the need to further strengthen the applicable safeguards provided by international human rights law, and ensuring that international human rights norms are mainstreamed into the Global Compact on Migration.
