Report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Implementation of the joint commitment to effectively addressing and countering the world drug problem with regard to human rights

In its resolution 37/42, the Human Rights Council requested the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to prepare a report, in consultation with States, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and other United Nations agencies, civil society and other relevant stakeholders, on the implementation of the joint commitment to effectively addressing and countering the world drug problem with regard to human rights, and to present it to the Human Rights Council at its thirty-ninth session. The Council also requested the Office to share the report with the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, through the appropriate channels, as a contribution to their work in this field and in preparation for the sixty-second session of the Commission. Report A/HRC/39/39 is prepared notably on the basis of submissions received pursuant to a call for inputs to States, international, regional and intergovernmental bodies, national human rights institutions and non-governmental organizations
