Report on the expert meeting on experiences in applying a human rights-based approach to address mortality and morbidity among newborns and children under-five

In its resolution 33/11 (6 October 2016) the Human Rights Council requested the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to organize, prior to its thirty-ninth session and in close collaboration with the World Health Organization, an expert workshop to discuss experiences in preventing mortality and morbidity of children under 5 years of age, with a particular focus on the implementation of the technical guidance, including challenges, best practices and lessons learned, and including consideration of the particular challenges in respect of the newborn child.
