Second session of the Expert Mechanism on the Right to Development

The second session of the Expert Mechanism will take place virtually from 11 to 12 November 2020, 10:00-13:00 and 15:00-18:00 CET.

At this sessin, the Expert Mechanism will consider the following topics:

  • Organizational matters
  • The mandate and programme of work
  • Coordination between the mechanisms dealing with the right to development
  • Thematic studies
  • Recommendations to the HRC

Please note that the meetings will be held in English and without interpretation.

Delegates and other stakeholders wishing to participate in this meeting need to register via this link. The registration will remain open until 18:00 CET, Monday, 9th of November. A link to join the virtual meeting will be subsequently sent to those who registered through the system. Please note that the link is unique to each registered participant and cannot be shared. The link will be sent few hours before the start of the meeting.

States, United Nations mechanisms, bodies and specialized agencies, funds and programmes, intergovernmental organizations, regional organizations and mechanisms in the field of human rights, national human rights institutions and other relevant national bodies, academics and experts on development issues, and non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council will be allowed to ask for the floor (by pressing the “raise hand” button) and intervene, in that order.

States, NGOs and other stakeholders are kindly requested to coordinate among themselves so that only one person takes the floor per delegation.
