Consultation on the draft APF-OHCHR manual on "Role of NHRIs in operationalizing the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples"

The Asia-Pacific Forum and OHCHR are inviting your institutions to review the unedited draft of a forthcoming APF-OHCHR training manual on the ‘Role of NHRIs in Operationalising the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)’.

We would welcome any suggestions your institution may wish to make in relation to the substantive contents of this draft. You will note that we have added short case studies regarding the work of some National Human Rights Institutions, but have also indicated blank spaces in the text where we hope to insert a few additional case studies. If your institution would like to contribute additional case studies for inclusion into the manual, may we suggest that your institution’s case studies be less than 2 paragraphs in length per case study.

This draft has not been edited yet; may we therefore kindly ask that your reviewer focus their comments on substantive / content issues only, because the manual will be sent to professional editors and graphic designers who will address all stylistic, editorial and design aspects of the manual following finalisation of the text.

Should your institution wish to participate in this review process, kindly confirm the full name of your designated reviewer, and send your institutions comments in tracked changes directly in the attached word document to the following email address:

We would be grateful if we could receive your institution’s comments (if any) by 27 August 2012.
