Visit to Portugal
The Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, Mr. Léo Heller, undertook an official visit to Portugal at the invitation of the Government from 5 to 13 December 2016. The Special Rapporteur presented the report on his visit at the thirty-sixth session of the Human Rights Council in 2017.

In the first half of 2018, the Special Rapporteur commenced the follow-up analysis of his visit to Portugal. As the initial stage of the follow-up analysis, the Special Rapporteur has undertaken a research on the recent developments related to his recommendations elaborated in the report (Preliminary analysis).
In order to collect further information, the Special Rapporteur sent a questionnaire to the Government (Questionnaire to the Government of Portugal). The Special Rapporteur thanks the Government of Portugal for its response (Response from the Government of Portugal).
In addition, the Special Rapporteur invites civil society to contribute to this follow-up analysis by submitting a written response to the questions. Please send the submission to firstname.lastname@example.org by 15 September 2018 (Questionnaire to civil society and other stakeholders).
The Special Rapporteur will present his final analysis on the implementation of recommendation by the Governments of Portugal in the second half of 2018.
