Summary

The present report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 78/218. In this report, the Special Rapporteur provides an update on the human rights situation and discusses immediate accountability initiatives, with a focus on reparations for victims of serious human rights violations, particularly enforced disappearance, torture, and other cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment following forced repatriation.
