Summary

In her report, the Independent Expert on the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons provides information on her visit to the Dominican Republic, which took place from 28 February to 10 March 2023. Based on information collected prior to, during and after the visit, the Independent Expert assesses, to the extent possible, the implementation of existing international instruments, laws and policies pertaining to the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons in the Dominican Republic, paying particular attention to those in vulnerable situations. She also provides recommendations on how to further advance the promotion and protection of the rights of older persons in the country.
