In this report, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights focuses on effective methods to foster cooperation between local government and local stakeholders for the promotion and protection of human rights at their level, including by raising awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The High Commissioner describes the challenges involved and relevant good practices, and makes recommendations thereon.
