2025 Reports of the Special Rapporteur
The Human Rights Council, in its resolution 33/14 of 29 September 2016, established the mandate of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the right to development. The mandate was extended by resolution 51/7. Mr Surya Deva was appointed Special Rapporteur for a period of three years and took up his functions on 1 May 2023.
In 2025, the Special Rapporteur will be presenting to the Human Rights Council and to the UN General Assembly on the following themes:
(A) Nexus between gender equality and the right to development
(B) Financing for inclusive, sustainable and participatory development
To inform these reports, the Special Rapporteur is inviting all non-state stakeholders for virtual consultations.
REGISTRATION:
You can register to select the most convenient the date and time out of the following options:
- First option: 13 March 2025, 3pm - 4.30pm (EDT/GMT-4)
- Second option: 31 March 2025, 2pm - 3.30pm (ICT/GMT+7)
- Third option: 23 April 2025, 10am – 11.30am (CEST/GMT+2)
All consultations will be conducted online. A joining link will be emailed to the registered participants two days before their selected session.
Please note that due to resource constraints, all consultations will be in English.
Unless specifically requested otherwise, inputs from the consultations may be referenced in the reports.
