On 13 July 2021, the Human Rights Council adopted resolution 47/23 on “New and emerging digital technologies and human rights”. Operative paragraph 3 of the resolution requested the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights “to convene an expert consultation to discuss the relationship between human rights and technical standard-setting processes for new and emerging digital technologies” and “to submit a report thereon, reflecting the discussions held in an inclusive and comprehensive manner, to the Human Rights Council at its fifty-third session.”
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights now invites all relevant stakeholders to participate in the expert consultation, which will take place on 15 February 2023, 10:00-13:00 and 15:00-18:00 in Geneva at Palais des Nation, Room XX. Remote participation will be possible.
Registration will be open until 14 February 2023, 15:00.
