EXTENDED APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FIVE MANDATES ONLY: 11 DECEMBER 2023 (12 NOON GENEVA TIME)
- Working Group on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas, member from African States
- Working Group on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas, member from Asia-Pacific States
- Working Group on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas, member from Eastern European States
- Working Group on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas, member from Latin American and Caribbean States
- Working Group on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas, member from Western European and other States
To apply for these mandates, (1) complete the online survey (https://ohchr-survey.unog.ch/index.php/687683) and (2) submit the application form in Word format, which can be accessed under the specific mandate in the table below.
Candidates eligible for the vacancies in Working Groups are only nationals of States belonging to the specific regional groups for which specific vacancies have been advertised. Please refer to the list of the United Nations regional groups of Member States.

*The appointment of the mandate holder will be made provided the mandate itself is extended by the Human Rights Council.
Should the appointee to any of the mandates be a person with a disability, the United Nations would be obliged to ensure reasonable accommodation for the mandate holder in the implementation of his/her mandate. This may include provisions for the mandate holder to be accompanied during official travels by a personal assistant, and/or for additional conference services (such as sign language interpretation) in respect of meetings in which the mandate holder participates.
