Darai people are mainly residing in western and central Nepal. Chitwan, Tanahun, Nawalparasi, Gorkha, Palpa and Dhading districts are home to Darai. They are also known as Daroe, Darhi, Daraie, Daras, Darad and so forth. The language of Darai people belongs to Indo-European family of language. According to the 2011 census, as many as 11,677 Darai indigenous peoples speak their mother tongue.
