UN Human Rights Chief Volker Türk to visit Montenegro

GENEVA – UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk will conduct an official visit to Montenegro on 19 May 2025.

In Podgorica, the High Commissioner is scheduled to meet Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović, the Protector for Human Rights and Freedoms, Siniša Bjeković, and Members of Parliament, among other State officials.

Türk will also meet members of civil society, representatives of diplomatic missions and the UN Country Team.

He will address the media, with access strictly limited to accredited journalists. Details will be announced locally.

Türk’s visit is part of a regional trip, in which he will also visit Serbia.
