Independent Expert on the situation of human rights in the Sudan
The Special Procedures assumed by the Human Rights Council (HRC) are thematic and country-related. Independent Expert is one of the titles used for these procedures. The present one was established in 1993. On 6 October 2020, the HRC adopted resolution 45/25 at its 37th meeting, which decided to end the mandate of the Independent Expert, in accordance with HRC resolutions 39/22 and 42/35.
