In Tunisia, a shelter protects and empowers women facing gender-based violence

The Arwa Kairouaniya women’s shelter in Tunisia offers a safe space for survivors of gender-based violence. Set up by women human rights defenders, the shelter also provides an avenue for economic independence and empowerment.
